Is Elvis Still Alive? 5 Compelling Reasons That Point to ‘Yes’

I'm all shook up.

He ain’t nothing but a hound dog … AND A LIAR!

Elvis Presley ~*supposedly*~ died from a heart attack back in 1977, but conspiracy theorists are convinced he faked it. In the same vain that super fans want to believe that Princess Diana is living in small town America and Tupac is chilling beachside in Cuba, diehard Elvis supporters are convinced that the King is living among us as an 82-year-old man. Call it wishful thinking— or call it crazy — but these guys have some compelling evidence.

They have a pretty serious following too: the ‘Evidence Elvis Presley is Alive’ page has over 24,000 ‘likes’, the Elvis Is Alive Museum in Wright City, Missouri attracted thousands of visitors before it closed, and a group of believers have even formed the First Presleyterian Church of Elvis the Divine. There’s a 2002 movie called Bubba Ho-Tep based on the theory, and it tells the story of an elderly Elvis saving the residents of his seniors home from a vengeful mummy. It’s branded as a comedy, but

On the 40th anniversary of his death, here are five reasons to believe Elvis Presley is alive and well.

He attended his 82 birthday party

See that man with a white beard and identity hiding accessories? Ya, apparently that’s Elvis. Images taken at the star’s Memphis estate, Graceland — during a celebration of what would have been Elvis’ 82nd birthday — went viral in January after diehard fans noticed the “uncanny” resemblance. If this 80-year-old-ish looking man isn’t Elvis, then why are all those security guards hanging out behind him? Why is he wearing sunglasses when NOBODY ELSE IS? These are the questions keeping Presleyterians up at night.

The FBI has him in witness protection

Elvis was going to be killed by a criminal organization called “The Fraternity,” so the FBI helped him fake his death and go into hiding. This, at least, is what Gail Brewer-Giorgio claims in her 1988 bestselling book Is Elvis Alive.

Brewer-Giorgio wrote in length about how the FBI enlisted Presley as an undercover agent in the year before his apparent death.  Presley was approached because of connections he had to “The Fraternity” through an airplane sale. Evidence from FBI documents and interviews point to Elvis being caught as a mole, and put in the FBI’s witness protection program to evade vengeful mobster murder.

“Elvis faked his death because he was going to be killed and there was no doubt about it,” Brewer-Giorgio recently told TIME Magazine in an interview.

Priscilla’s slip up on Oprah

In a 2005 interview with Oprah, Elvis’ wife Priscilla Presley addressed how her ‘late husband’ spoiled their daughter, Lisa Marie. In the clip, Priscilla appears to be saying: “It’s exactly what he said the other day” before correcting herself and saying, “you said,” to the talk show host.

The ‘misspelling’ on his tomb stone

Elvis was named after his father, Vernon Elvis Presley, and his father’s friend, Aaron Kennedy. Aron was the spelling the Presleys chose because it was similar to the spelling of Elvis’ stillborn identical twin, Jesse Garon Presley. Except, the spelling on Elvis’ tombstone curiously reads “Elvis Aaron Presley.” Skeptics believe the mix-up is because Elvis didn’t really die. Except this theory has kind of been debunked — near the end of his life, Elvis sought to change his middle name to reflect the spelling of the biblical Aaron.

His Home Alone cameo

I think the video evidence speaks for itself. Clearly, Elvis Presley is alive and well. It’s unreasonable to suppose otherwise.
