Today marks the first day of the Year of the Horse, which, if you’re Chinese, means a weekend of lion dances, exchanging lucky money and epic eating ahead. Celebrations of the Lunar New Year are a big deal and while experts predict a year of tension ahead for those born under the sign (roughly those hatched in 1919, ’31, ’43, ’55, ’67, ’79, ’91 and ’03) we prefer to think on the positive side: tension relief a.k.a. shopping. After all, Horses are said to be big spenders and in that case, we’re probably all a little bit Horse too. Gung hay fat choy!
