For as prohibitive as it has become to ride in the city centre, lord knows Torontonians love their bikes. By day and by night, the city’s most mobile use their sometimes stylish, ofttimes ragged two-wheelers to get where they need to go. Bike-ready fashion is somewhat of an art form (heck, we even provided a how-to!), with comfort, flexibility and stylishness all playing a role in the equation. To pull that all off simultaneously is impressive, so we sent photographer David Pike out to capture those who do it best. Amidst the ladies and gents photographed in this batch of Toronto street style, a few bike-worthy signatures seemed staple: jean shorts, backpacks and thick soled shoes. There were a few mini skirts as well, but we’ll sleep more soundly to assume that bike shorts were worn underneath. So without further ado, peruse Toronto’s bike fashion at its finest!
