“Coats are a security blanket during the cold season, so investing in one that’s out of the ordinary is very important. Think of your coat as a dress—every day is your red carpet, so choose one that makes a statement. You can never go wrong with Dries Van Noten. This one is cut to be a little more oversized, like a men’s coat. The embroidery gives it a nice feminine touch. I like that she’s given it an individual look by cuffing it. With a coat like this, you don’t have to think about the rest of your outfit. Sometimes people do a bit too much with their hair, accessories and handbag but she kept it very pared back and let the coat speak for itself. It’s very much her armour. This shot was taken at 9 a.m. When you love a coat this much, you’ll wear it anytime.”
