Rodarte Will Return to New York Fashion Week

After decamping to Paris for haute couture week in 2017, the whimsical LA-based brand by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, will return to the New York Fashion Week calendar this fall. “We are excited to announce we will be showing our SS19 collection during NYC Fashion Week,” the sisters wrote via Instagram. Proenza Schouler, who also left New York in favour of Paris, will also show in New York this September. It’s a homecoming! (Fashionista)

 

Faye Dunaway Stars in Gucci’s Latest ’80s-tastic Campaign Film

Faye Dunaway, the Academy Award-winning actress of Bonnie & Clyde and Chinatown, is the star of Gucci’s latest campaign promoting its ‘Sylvie’ handbag. In the film, directed by wunderkind Petra Collins, Dunaway plays a lady of leisure, who plays afternoon tennis, is served by doting sales assistants at a luxury boutique and gifts her daughter with luxury handbags. The campaign includes a print component, which will appear in international publications beginning with the September issue. (WWD)

Karlie Kloss is Engaged to Joshua Kushner

The lanky, St. Louis-born supermodel Karlie Kloss is now engaged to her long-term boyfriend, Joshua Kushner aka brother of Jared. The announcement was made via social media. Kloss posted a romantic selfie of the couple captioned “Yes a million times over,” and Kushner posted a concurrent photo of Kloss captioned “fiancée.” What we really want to know is… who is on the guest list for the wedding?! Alexander McQueen Might End Up the Next Gucci

Since Alessandro Michele was appointed creative director in 2015, Gucci has become one of the most covetable – and lucrative brands – on the luxury market. Gucci has just experienced its sixth consecutive financial quarter of growth and while parent group Kering expects that growth to continue, they have a backup plan if it doesn’t: Alexander McQueen. On a conference call with WWD, Kering chief financial officer Jean-Marc Duplaix suggested that McQueen has a strong potential for growth. “We are working to develop McQueen, which is an amazing brand with a very strong content in terms of creativity, with a very strong DNA. We are building the foundations to grow that brand as we did for Saint Laurent, as we did for Balenciaga.” (WWD)
