Fash Points: Gigi Hadid Out at VS Fashion Show, D&G Sells $110 Pasta

The top fashion stories you need to know today.

Gigi Hadid will no longer be walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Looks like Bella will be the only Hadid sister walking in the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai. Her older sister Gigi, who was previously confirmed to be in the show, tweeted Thursday she is “bummed” that she “won’t be able to make it to China this year.” While Hadid didn’t provide an explanation, many are speculating the model is being denied a Chinese visa (Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova from Russia and Dasha Khlystun from Ukraine have also been affected by this issue), potentially due to the controversial video she posted earlier this year where she appears to be mocking Asian facial features. When news was announced that Gigi would participate in the VS Fashion Show in Shanghai, the hashtag #GigiGetOutOfChina began trending (Hadid later apologized for her actions through Chinese social media network, Weibo). Funny how the power of social media still reigns strong in a country that has blocked several social media sites, no? (Gigi Hadid Twitter)

Dolce & Gabbana is selling $110 pasta

Got a fashionable foodie in your life? This may be the perfect holiday gift for him/her! Dolce & Gabbana has teamed up with Pasta Di Martino to create a limited-edition pasta line for fashion and food lovers alike. Though the pasta isn’t by the Italian fashion house, the outerwear packaging is — with four different pastas (spaghetti, paccheri, penne mezzani rigate, and mista corta) available in vintage-style tins. Much like any other Dolce & Gabbana item, the pasta doesn’t come cheap — one tin will set you back $110 but hey, at least you’ll get a D&G-designed apron, too! Just think of the ‘gram opportunities! (Vogue)

Stefano Gabbana says sexual harassment isn’t violence

Speaking of Dolce & Gabbana, one half of the design duo, Stefano Gabbana (a.k.a. the one with very controversial opinions) has given his two cents on sexual harassment and — surprise, surprise! — it’s not what many people would like to hear.

“[Sexual harassment is] not new!” Gabbana told Vogue U.K.  “Luchino Visconti asked Helmut Berger and Alain Delon to go in the bed … But listen, you decide. It’s true. Everybody knows. After 20 years you say, ‘Ah! He touched my ass!’ It’s not violence, this.”

He continued, “Who doesn’t do sex? Who doesn’t? It’s a trend. Now the trend is sex. But sex is an old story. We are Italian. We came from the Roman Empire. We know very well.”

No comment. (Vogue U.K.)

No one bought the world’s largest pink diamond at auction

Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but they’re certainly not an auctioneer’s. Raj Pink, the world’s largest pink diamond, was put up for auction Tuesday, but unfortunately, it failed to sell. Sotheby’s auction house had hoped to set a new record with the 37.3-carat stone, with the presale estimated to be $20 million to $30 million. Unfortunately, the highest bid for the Raj Pink was just over a mere $14 million. Womp, womp. (CNBC)
