Watch the Best Moments from the New York Launch of Kenzo x H&M

In the words of rapper Ice Cube, “Ain’t no party like an H&M party”. Truth. The stunning fashion show and launch party thrown to celebrate Kenzo x H&M’s designer collaboration was total sensory overload. Sights, sounds and flavors, it truly had it all. The holographic invitation wrapped in an orange printed envelope was the first clue at the incredible party that was to come.

The extravaganza kicked off at the palatial Pier 36 in New York where hundreds of international editors, influencers and celebs including Iman, Lupita Nyongo and Rosario Dawson took in the Jean-Paul Goude-directed fashion show that was part runway, part performance art.

True to the energetic ethos of the brand, djs, 4 live orchestras and a marching band played, strummed and beat (Kenzo printed drums no less) to the tune of an “Express Yourself” musical mash up. The model cast, made up of dancers, beat boxers, whistlers and musicians, embodied the beauty of individual expression and unique style. It was a spectacle of vivid prints, bold colour and fun fashion.

After an epic finale complete with a spray of pink and silver confetti, guests piled into the surprise pop-up shop to snatch pieces right from the runway. The crowd raced to get their hands on sweatshirts, platform boots and zig zag sunglasses. Then, the celebration continued with a performance from rapper Ice Cube.

By the time DJ Crazy Tools kicked the party into high gear (because it hadn’t quite reached fever pitch yet), we were dancing (shopping bags over our shoulders) next to Chloe Sevigny who was getting down with Kenzo designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, and Joe Jonas who was perched atop a mountain of playful printed pillows. Mini sprinkled donuts appeared just before midnight and were sweet ending to an amazing night.
