Kate Middleton Lands in Canada Wearing Jenny Packham on Day 1 of the Royal Trip

It seems like it was only yesterday that it was announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton were coming to Canada for a second time. After months (and months) of anticipation, the Cambridges have finally arrived! Cue the celebratory trumpets.

They landed at the Victoria International Airport this afternoon—along with their 12-person entourage—shortly after 4 PM PST.  Prince William and Prince George appeared first, followed by Kate who was carrying Princess Charlotte. The Cambridges were greeted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau (who was repping Canada in a purple dress from Montreal-based Éditions de Robes).

Now, let’s talk Kate’s wardrobe. Although the Royal family members looked gorgeous in their matching blue outfits (#familygoals), Kate surprised us by not wearing a Canadian designer. (She wore Erdem back in 2011). Instead, the Duchess—with advice from her former PA/current stylist Natasha Archer—opted for a body-con blue dress by British designer Jenny Packham. She topped off her look with a matronly (but sleek) chignon–styled by her hair dresser Amanda Cook-Tucker and a fascinator by Lock & Co. In the jewellery department, Kate accessorized with the Queen’s maple leaf brooch that she wore on her previous Canadian tour. Rumour has it, the Queen requested Archer make the Duchess look more ‘regal’ this time around. Interesting…

As for the kids, all we know right now is that Prince George is wearing a shirt and sweater by Pepa and Company and shoes from Start-rite. Don’t worry, we’ll definitely be keeping tabs on the royal kiddies’ outfits, too.

Stay tuned for more updates from what is sure to be another fashionably flawless tour.
