This New Toronto Pop-Up Celebrates Home-Grown Talent
We always love to support Canadian talent and the Hudson’s Bay is making it easier than ever with their newest pop-up shop, which features 12 designers from across the country. THE COLLECTIONS™, a Toronto-based fashion production agency who helped curate the collection, hand-selected pieces that span a variety of styles.
From the sleek monochrome pieces by Atelier Guarin to the rich colourful patterns by Hilary MacMillan, the collection promises a wide selection of apparel that will suit a variety of tastes. There are even unisex pieces from whimsical WRKDEPT and a selection of jewelry from Biko and Cuchara.
Each of these brands has a very strong voice and this pop-up is an opportunity to browse pieces that you might not have the chance to otherwise. By spotlighting Canadian designers, the Hudson’s Bay is helping to promote home-grown high fashion.
“As Canada’s fashion authority, we have a responsibility to support the incredible design talent within our country,” said Allison Coville, president of the department store. “This is a pivotal opportunity for Hudson’s Bay to celebrate Canadian designers on a national platform.”
To celebrate the launch, there will be a presentation in the RE\SETTM Studio during Toronto Fashion Week on September 4th showcasing exclusive pieces from the pop-up. Then the collection will be available online and in the Vancouver, Yorkdale, Chinook, Montreal and Queen Street stores.
