Alright, #Tribeca2018 audiences, you’re gonna need to step up your style game after this one. Last night, we screened Kate Novack’s (@RossVack) The @GospelAccordingToAndre, an emotional and eye-opening documentary portrait of the fashion world’s singular visionary: King André Leon Talley (@AndreLTalley). Following the screening, the great @SandraGBernhard led a panel discussion with Talley, Novack, and executive producers Josh Braun, Andrew Rossi, and @RogerRossWilliams for an audience of New York’s most daring fashion risk-takers, who came to pay tribute to a fiercely original pioneer — and to slay. And slay they did. Watch the full panel now. Link in bio. (Photos by @samalive for @StreetDreamsMag)
Fashion Takes over Tribeca
As a lover of fashion and documentaries, nothing makes me happier than seeing the two combined. And I’m happy to report that Tribeca thinks so too! The film festival premiered three fashion documentaries this past week including “McQueen”, a look into the life of late British designer Alexander McQueen, “Yellow is Forbidden”, displaying the work of Chinese fashion designer Guo Pei, and finally “The Gospel According to André“, which follows the career of former Vogue editor André Leon Talley. Both “McQueen” and “Yellow is Forbidden” will be shown at Hot Docs in Toronto, beginning April 26th.
