Givenchy has announced Julia Roberts as its Spring 2015 face
Givenchy‘s Riccardo Tisci has made a habit out of casting unexpected musicians and actresses as faces of his campaigns. Recently, we’ve seen faces as varied as Amanda Seyfried, Erykah Badu and Kendall Jenner, and this season, he’s hit the jackpot by announcing America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts as the lead for Givenchy’s Spring 2015 campaign.
Shoot in black and white by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the photos capture Roberts as powerful, masculine with a hint of sex appeal. Tisci disclosed that he chose Roberts due to star quality and her ability to represent maturity and grace, with the campaign marking his tenth year at Givenchy.
The campaign features Roberts in Tisci’s signature tuxedo, which the actress requested for a red carpet appearance, prompting the shoot. Added bonus? Roberts is fresh faced, wearing minimal makeup to let her inner strength and beauty show.
