Mark Fast‘s body con dresses and Swarovski‘s sparkling crystals are a match made in collaboration heaven. The Canadian knitwear designer, who first teamed up with Swarovski for his Spring 2010 collection, has joined forces with the sparkly faux-gems behemoth to create a line for Atelier Swarovski.

London-based Fast is one of five talents–including fellow fashion designers Prabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra, jewellery designer Jenny Manik Mercian and costume designer Michael Kaplan–tapped by the brand for their Spring 2011 collaborations.

Fast’s line, called Atelier Swarovski for Mark Fast, was inspired by a vintage necklace belonging to his late grandmother Olga.

“She had the most amazing jewellery collection that she kept in her Japanese black jewellery box in her room,” said Fast in a release. “When I would go over for Sunday lunches, I would always sneak into her room and play with her crystal jewellery and imagine they were jewels of the sea,” said Fast.

The collection is centered around Swarovksi’s Lily Pendant, a faceted crystal that resembles a shard of glacial ice, and is made up of necklaces, pendants, giant steel cuffs and dangling earrings embellished with sky blue opal, silvery grey crystals and vintage rose stones set in silver and gold.

The collection will be available at select Swarovski stores in March 2011.
