Here's what was buzzing.

Pandora committed to being carbon neutral

Global jewellery brand Pandora is the latest to step up and make changes that will benefit the environment. On Thursday, Pandora announced its commitment to join the Science Based Targets initiative, and reduce emissions across the entire company. Before the end of next year, the jewellery brand will have a published plan in line with the Paris agreement, outlining the necessary changes needed to achieve a lower carbon footprint. In addition to this, the brand is working toward two other sustainable changes: the first is shifting to use 100 per cent renewable electricity in its two crafting facilities in Thailand this year. By 2025, its other target of being entirely carbon neutral in its operations (from crafting facilities and distribution sites to storefronts and offices) will be due. “Addressing climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today, and as a large global company we have an obligation to contribute to the necessary solutions,” CEO Alexander Lacik said in the press release. “Responsible business practices such as recycling of materials and waste have always been part of Pandora’s way of operating, and we now commit to ambitious targets to reduce our carbon emissions and help drive sustainability in the jewellery industry.”
