Dior Cruise 2016: See the best-dressed celebs + top runway looks

The Resort 2016 global tour continues. With Chanel showing in Seoul and Louis Vuitton presenting in Palm Springs last week, the bar was set pretty high for Dior. But just like any of the brand’s previous shows in recent years, Raf Simons did not disappoint.

Stationing its Cruise 2016 collection in Cannes at Le Palais Bulles (aka Bubble Palace), Simons could not have picked a more Insta-worthy venue. For starters, Pierre Cardin, the French couturier and former Head of Atelier Tailleur to Mr. Christian Dior, owns the house. So there’s that connection. But the house also happens to be a source of inspiration for the Dior designer. Inspired by the venue’s architecture and the nature of the French Riviera, Simons explained, “I wanted an idea of freedom, playfulness and individuality to come to the fore in this collection, especially in consideration of the Dior archive.”

Just like any fashion heavyweight’s show, the front row action was buzzing with celebrities, editors and bloggers dressed in their Dior best. While models weaved their way around the palace in eccentric prints that echoed the atmosphere, the industry’s leading ladies opted for more subdued tones.

Zoe Kravitz flaunted her toned body in a miniskirt and crop top. Meanwhile, Dakota Fanning and blogger Aimee Song showcased their glam side donning strapless dresses. But it’s not the Mediterranean without a couple of leggy looks. While Elena Perminova showed off her legs in an embellished A-line dress, brand ambassador Marion Cotillard worked a wool coat and black shorts.
