3 Cottage Country Pop Ups That Are Bringing Big City Style Up North

Yes, style at the cottage is definitely comfort first. But just because you’re lounging near the lake doesn’t mean you have to leave your city style behind. The right bikini, bathing suit cover up and sandals can make you feel just as special as your power suit, heels and designer bag back at home. Plus, with a slew of pretty boutiques, you can take a break from the beach and indulge in a little retail therapy (then lie by the water in all your new things).

Here are our top 3 picks for the shops you need to hit in cottage country for your most stylish summer ever.

Frankie’s Surf Club
2 James Bartleman Way, Port Carling

Hot off a winter pop up in Tulum, Frankie’s Surf Club is part coffee/cocktail/juice bar and part stunningly curated lifestyle boutique. Micah Cameron (the former fashion director at Hudson’s Bay) has stocked her shop with amazing finds you wouldn’t expect to see in Port Carling. Kiini and Mara Hoffman swimwear hang alongside Lemlem scarves, cute pompom sandals and roomy beach bags. It doesn’t hurt that Mexican hot spot Grand Electric Muskoka is right next door. We’ll take some guac to go with our new goodies please.

McPherson Ave.
SWS Marina Pop-Up Village, 1112 Juddhaven Rd, Muskoka

Gotta love a shop that’s accessible by boat in the summertime (though you can get there by car too). Brand new boutique McPherson Ave. opens its doors for the first time on June 1st.  Located on Lake Rosseau, the travel-inspired spot will stock first-time-in-Canada labels Rixo and Vibi Venezia, Solid + Striped swim and Le Specs and Retro Super Future sunnies. Look for the limited edition Kayu tote with Muskoka monogram too – perfect for stashing sunscreen, flip flops and a good book.

Augustina
1320 Peninsula Road, Port Stanfield

The beloved Toronto boutique is taking their show on the road. To Port Stanfield to be exact. They’ll be bringing Anita Ko jewelry, Snapdragon cashmere and MZ Wallace bags along for the ride. Keep your eyes peeled on Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5 for a vintage Airstream Cruiser, a.k.a. the Jewel Wagon, stocked with the shimmering summer collections from Mindham Fine Jewellery and HH Fine Jewellery.
