Dior Launches Instagram for its Childrens’ Line (and We Are Officially Obsessed!)
It’s no secret that designer clothing for kids is a booming business. Even Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are dipping their toes into the pool with their upcoming Yeezy kiddie athleisure line.
This week, Dior launched an Instagram account for its childrens’ line Baby Dior, and we instantly fell down the rabbit hole into this magical world of mini confections. Cordelia de Castellane, the brand’s creative director, brings this fairy tale to life through embellished party dresses made for twirling and hairbands with oversized tulle bows. The label’s new cotton candy-coloured topper features delicate scalloped edges “perfectly cut to reflect the smooth curves of the clouds that so captivate every child’s imagination,” reads the Instagram caption. Needless to say, we want EVERYTHING! If only they came in our size… ?
Even the sketches posted from Dior’s atelier are frame-worthy. One behind-the-scenes shot features a drawing of the exquisite Le Petit Trianon dress.
Another photo posted provides a detailed look at this exclusive piece, which includes hand-sewn intricate floral embellishment. Then there’s the bead trimmed sleeves that look like they’ve been dipped in frosting—from a Parisian bakery, bien sûr. (Are your ovaries aching yet?)
Like designer goodies for grown-ups, these little sartorial treasures are 3 parts aspirational, 1 part inspirational. And that’s why we bow down to Instagram, because for just a moment (or a few hours, who are we kidding?) we can immerse ourselves into a world far grander than our own.
