Alexander McQueen Mens Fall 2014

Gingham

Not just your average picnic table print, gingham was the print of choice for many labels like Alexander McQueen, which used the print on three-piece punky skirt suits. Agi & Sam used a black and white check on oversized boxe-coats and jackets while Richard James refined the print on his suiting and outwear, an ode to the ‘50s Teddy Boy.

James Long re-imagined men’s sport style for the future with quilted red and black bomber jackets. The bold jersey at Astrid Anderson was something right out of our favorite model tomboy Cara Delevingne’s closet.

Burberry Mens Fall 2014

Art Prints

The Spring 201 womenswear season was filled with art-influenced prints and the men are starting to follow suit. Burberry Prorsum infused its signature check print with Mondrian-inspired primary colour blocks. Leave it to Burberry to make throw blankets the hottest new men’s accessory. Huntergather showed Pollock-inspired splatter cardigans with white jeans.

Katie Eary launched her signature line back in 2009, and along the way she’s garnered major celeb admirers like Kanye West. This season, her clothes blended Savile Row tailoring with quirky sci-fi inspired graphics and prints. Kay Kwok used neoprene sweaters and splashed literal science fiction graphics like rocket ships and aliens.
