Greta Constantine Fall 2016

Greta Constantine Fall 2016

There’s no rest for fashion followers in a week filled with shows, presentations and parties, but with a big FASHION Magazine Awards bash followed by a sleep-filled weekend ahead, all that’s left to do is power through. And it was well worth it with dramatic capes, marching bands and blushing brides all taking a turn under the bright lights.

Paola Gamero Fall 2016

Eveningwear on the runway has been a major theme at the shows in Toronto. Paola Gamero set herself apart with intricate, hand-finished embroidery and sequins on lace and silk. There was something for every occasion. Sheer tops swung with swingy, sparkly strips and were paired with skintight jeans, a gala-worthy floral gown was topped with a floor-dusting cape and for the bride, a lace gown was fitted with a filmy skirt. Stunning.

Maram Fall 2016

It was clear to see Maram designer Maram Aboul Enein looked to the stars for inspiration. There were leather jackets emblazoned in latin script with ultra soft fur collars and net dresses beaded in constellation-like patterns. Deep moonlit colours like burgundy, black and charcoal also spoke to the theme.

Picadilly Fall 2016

Classic women’s workwear line Picadilly, designed as a team effort by David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc and Franciska Veress, is celebrating it’s 40th anniversary this season. Easy separates like wide, white trousers, mod shift dresses and tailored suiting was heightened thanks to clever styling like monochromatic mashups, cute toques and fun furry shoulder bags.

Stephan Caras Fall 2016

Stephan Caras isn’t known for subtle dressing and this season was no different. Designed alongside his son Kyriako, he showed OTT, skin-baring evening dresses decorated with reams of tulle, leather lattice bra tops, lots of laced details and floral sequined prints. Your best accessory this season is a big helping of self confidence.

Greta Constantine Fall 2016

Greta Constantine pulled out all the stops. Celebrating 10 years in the biz, there’s no doubt they showed the most exciting show of the week. Big, beautiful bows decorated throats while metallic suits, puffed up skirts, dramatic dresses and must-have leather jackets fought for space on our shopping lists. The band that marched onto the runway post-show had everyone dancing in their seats and was the perfect way to cap off a stylish week.
