Just when you thought the extent of Apple’s influence on the fashion industry ended with the Apple Watch, everyone’s favourite tech company announced its latest collab with the crème de la crème of accessory brands: Hermès.

Launching a more fashion-forward image, Apple is teaming up with Hermès to unveil the sure-to-be-coveted Apple Watch Hermès collection. While this partnership may raise some eyebrows, it actually makes a lot of sense, with Hermès renowned for its luxury leathered goods and the Apple Watch coming with a leather band option.

“Apple and Hermès make very different products, but they reflect the deep appreciation of quality design,” says Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief design officer. “Both companies are motivated by a sincere pursuit of excellence and the desire to create something that is not compromised. Apple Watch Hermès is a true testament to that belief.”

The capsule collection will include the Apple Watch’s stainless steel design and features leather brands distinctive of the French house’s design, including the Single Tour, Double Tour and Cuff that each come in a selection of different colours. But just like any Hermès product, it comes with hefty price tag. Starting at $1,500 for the 38mm stainless steel case with the Single Tour, the collection tops out at $2,050 for the 42mm stainless steel case with the Cuff. These uber-luxe watches will roll out on October 5th at select Apple and Hermès stores as well as on apple.com and hermes.com. Oh, your Apple Watch will be packaged in the French designer brand’s iconic little orange box. How chic.

In other Apple news…

Every year around September, like clockwork, Apple releases some new products we don’t necessarily need but instantly covet. Since last year we were introduced to the newly designed iPhone 6/6+ and the Apple Watch, this year we are blessed with some pretty sweet updates. iPhone 6 will be upgraded to iPhone 6s with the new rose gold metallic finish added to the roster and new features like 3D Touch (you can now take sneak peeks at your content with just a light touch before applying more pressure to actually open up the app!) and Live Photos (capturing moments in motion). Other divisions of the tech company also got some new updates including a launch of an all-new Apple TV as well as a new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil– perfect for those creative minds who much rather carry a tablet rather than a laptop when designing on the go. In other words, Apple is once again staying well ahead of the curve.
