This Valentine’s day I will be going out on the town with my BFFs. With our busy schedules it’s important to carve out “together” time to catch up and reconnect. It’s the perfect time to wear red and here I paired this crop top with a black aline skirt and statement pumps. Then, accessorized this look with my DIY snakeskin and fur bag…perfect for a night out!

Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, which instantly gives way to a wider array of options than a typical Tuesday. I’ll be heading out to the theatre on love day, and I’ll literally be donning my heart(s) on my sleeve. I love the whimsy of a fun print, one that is completely acceptable year round, but is especially on point for Valentine’s Day. I toned down my ensemble from being too theme-oriented by opting for a richer colour palette. Although on a day celebrating love, can you really have too much pink or red?

Valentine’s Day this year will be spent visiting my parents in Toronto with a dinner on the lake—so keeping in mind that weather right now on the East Coast is just as frigid as the West—I paired a thick, textured skirt with a lighter silk blouse to be practical yet playful with patterns and colours for the fun day!

I love holidays and any excuse to dress festive. I can’t remember a Valentine’s Day in recent memory that I have not worn red lipstick. This year my boyfriend and I are scrapping the standard romantic dinner by heading to a hip-hop show, so obviously my outfit has to be comfortable and cool. I opted for a semi-Kanye inspired plaid shirt and pleather pants ensemble. Red is an obvious classic V-Day look, but this time it’s found in a shirt that is actually from my beloved’s closet (wearing my heart on my sleeve, if you will.) Here’s hoping everyone feels the love this Valentine’s Day.

For Valentine’s Day I do like to put in a little extra effort even if just means I wash and curl my hair that day. But I don’t think it needs to be anything crazy. Some of my favorite dates are the ones that were very low key, and didn’t require a lot of planning. I think a foul proof look for any kind of date follows a particular standard format for me lately, a fun dress (cue this blue number), one statement jewelry piece, a leather jacket, and some booties; I mean come on it’s way to slushy out there for an open toe right now.

Like every year, you are sure to find me with my favourite red lipstick (M.A.C Red) and this year, I’ll be in this festive stripe jumper with a heart elbow patch I found on ASOS with this A-line skirt for the perfect balance between flirty and sophisticated.

I have to admit I’m a sucker for Valentine’s and love everything romantic, pretty and sweet. Not only that, my personal style often reflects that in pieces mixed with feminine and girly vibes. This Valentines my hubby and I plan to enjoy dinner out at one of our favorite restaurants, so I’m pairing this whimsical heart-shaped trench coat with a leather skirt and playful stockings. This strikes the balance I’m looking for between feminine and edgy.

Tradition for my husband and I on Valentine’s Day is to keep it pretty low key. Usually we’ll go for Thai food around the holiday and celebrate quietly. This year we’ll probably do the same, but we were lucky enough to just have returned from a relaxing vacation in sunny Florida. We spent most of the trip visiting with family, but we were able to escape for a few romantic walks along the beach. My favourite outfit that I wore on this trip was this beauty I picked up while shopping there. The red and white gingham is the perfect nod to the holiday, but I’ll probably have to layer it when wearing it back home in Toronto.
