Oscars 2016 beauty prep: 14 BTS shots that prove it really does take a village

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that celebrities are mere mortals just like the rest of us, especially when they step out on the red carpet looking as flawless as they all did last night at the 2016 Oscars. From elegant updos worn by Mindy Kaling, Daisy Ridley, and Rooney Mara to the makeup worn by Brie Larson and Olivia Munn (both wore bold lipstick colours that were to die for), there was tons of beauty inspiration to be gleaned.

The good news is that they didn’t achieve such insane levels of perfection on their own. Each star had an entire glam squad of hair stylists and makeup artists to help them prep and primp for the big night. If you loved seeing the finished results on the red carpet, then you’re sure to get a kick out of taking a peek behind the scenes of each celebrity’s pre-Oscars preparations. Thanks to social media posts by the stars themselves, as well as their stylists, it’s easier than ever to see that stars really are just like us. It takes time and effort to look that fabulous–and in the case of Brie Larson, sometimes a hearty breakfast is much-needed. Now if only we could borrow their glam squads for a day.
