The Must-See Beauty Looks From The Spring 2018 Couture Shows

From the ’80s feels we happily embraced, to the abundance of pink, beauty at the Spring 2018 Couture shows gave us plenty to marvel at. See our favourites from the week below:

Dior

In our opinion, this was the showstopper of the week. Taking a cue from the surrealist inspiration for the collection, Peter Philips created excessive eyes: he drew exaggerated, painted on lashes on top and bottom that looked like delicate vines extended out to the temples. Beige eyeliner went in the waterline to open up the eyes even more, with some being framed by the most incredible tulle masks by milliner Stephen Jones.

Chanel

Low ponies allowed the short black veils topped with flowers created by Sam McKnight to take center stage. Deep pink lips (Rouge Allure in “Incantevole” and Rouge Coco Gloss in “Poppea”) and flushed pink cheeks made the entire look sweet and romantic and yet, it wasn’t overly so.

Alexandre Vauthier

I mean, what else would you pair with exaggerated shoulders, gigantic bows, and costume jewelry brooches but aerodynamic hair, intensely contoured fuschia cheeks and smoky purple eyes? Alexandre took us back to 1982 and it was glorious.

Alexis Mabille

The double French braids, blush draping and red lips felt ’80s tough girl in the best possible way.

In spite of the statement-making feathery headpieces by Philip Treacy, Pat McGrath’s lavender toned lips were so stunning they did not go unmissed.

Peter Philips dressed the eyes of ten of the models with densely packed glitter in geometric shapes; some in squares and some in Xs with bars through the middle, mimicking a pattern in the dresses.
