Transforming into Angelina Jolie as Maleficent for Halloween? It’s easier than it looks (and we have the gifs to prove it)

Angelina Jolie may have wowed us long ago with her enviable, pillow-like lips (learn how to get that look here), but this season we’re totally consumed with imitating her Maleficent look this Halloween. We haven’t been this obsessed with a Disney character since Princess Jasmine (did we just date ourselves?).

Looking evil is hot (anyone who told you otherwise was lying), and no one does the look better than Angie. See how to get the Maleficent look this Halloween.

(Note: this Halloween you’ll be too busy to worry about makeup touchups or smudges so we recommend applying primer to improve overall coverage before following the steps below.)

1. To start you’ll need to find a foundation that is one shade lighter than your actual colour to perfectly mimic Maleficent’s pale complexion. Once you’ve found it, apply the product evenly across your face using a round makeup brush.

2. Fill in your eyebrows with Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream to create a thick, defined eyebrow.

3. Next use an eyeshadow brush to add yellow chrome shadow directly below the eyebrow. This will create the illusion of depth and prevent your eyes from looking flat and lifeless. Then add MAC Embark shadow to your eye crease to create a slightly sunken and smoky eye.

4. Apply MAC Carbon shadow across your lower lid and blend, blend, blend.

5. Apply Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream to your upper lash line with a pointed eye brush. Make sure to blend it in to lessen the intensity and create a more natural look and apply brown mascara.

6. To make your eyes subtly pop, without distracting from the rest of your face, add MAC Smoulder and White eyeliner to the bottom lash line.

7. Add NARS bronzing powder in Laguna across your cheekbones and to your temples in a circular motion to create a sculpted face.

8. Now, on to the lips. Line and fill your lips in with MAC Cherry. Then, layer on Sephora Luster Matte to create an intense red lip that fellow Halloween-ers won’t be able to ignore.

9. Voila! You’re now ready for a night out on the town. All you need is a black dress, some deliciously evil horns and you’re set for a night of fun as Maleficent.
