After years (seriously: years!) of tweeting #AaliyahforMAC, fans of the late singer will be thrilled to know that M.A.C Cosmetics has officially confirmed the release of a collection inspired by the late singer’s beauty looks. Prior to the confirmation from M.A.C, there was even a petition for a collection, that closed at over 26,000 signatures.
“We want M.A.C to be the first brand to reintroduce Aaliyah’s legacy to the world in a format that it has never been given before,” reads the petition. “Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton says that Aaliyah was a big fan of M.A.C. He also goes on to say,” that he approves of the idea for a limited edition collection by M.A.C for her.”
“This campaign is officially supported by: Aaliyah’s Brother Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah LLC, Aaliyah’s official twitter: @aaliyahhaughton, Missy Elliott, Aaliyah’s glam squad: Makeup Artist: Eric Ferrell, Hairstylist Tre Major, and Fashion Stylist Derek Lee.”
The petition was even endorsed by another star with her own M.A.C petition, Missy Elliott.
