Victoria Beckham Is Skipping the Spice Girls Reunion Tour to Become a YouTube Vlogger
And I don't blame her.
YouTube vlogging seems like a great job. You talk into a camera, add a couple of special effects, rack up 600k views, parade yourself around at Vidcon, and sign a sponsorship deal with a major brand. When you’re tuning into the videos from your couch, the lucrative gig looks pretty inviting. Which is probably why we’re seeing so many celebs becoming personalities on the platform—and not just with the occasional music video upload or interview repost. We’re talking curated YouTube channels with dedicated names, homepage trailers, broadcast-quality production, celebrity guests and spicy noodle challenges. (For example: did you know that American Idol’s Jordan Sparks has a baking channel called “Heart of Batter?” That one half of Disney twins Tia and Tamera has a tutorial channel called “Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix?” Or, that supermodel Karlie Kloss, has a channel called “Klossy” where she posts workout videos, travel guides, tech reviews and cookie decorating? I could keep going. I didn’t even get to whatever Will Smith’s channel is suppose to be.)
You can hardly blame Victoria Beckham for hopping on the bandwagon. “Today I have special news to share,” she says in a recent video message posted to her 23 million Instagram followers. “I will be launching my own YouTube channel with beauty tutorials, styling tips, and lots of stuff from me. Stay tuned!”

Apparently, this is something Beckham is quite serious about, and it seems she’s been plotting the move for a while. “This is a new chapter right now,” she explains in the clip. “I can put my foot on the gas and do everything that I’ve wanted to do for a long, long time.”
Could this “new career chapter” be the reason Beckham—the fashion designer formerly known as Posh—is skipping out on the recently announced Spice Girls reunion tour? If it is, I support her. Guiding viewers through eye makeup tutorials sounds far more enjoyable than squeezing into spandex and singing on stage for 10,000 screaming fans.
