TIFF 2017: What Went Down at the Kodachrome After Party

Toronto International Film Festival is mostly about cinema (obviously). But TIFF isn’t only about films. There are parties to attend, stars to spot on the street, and brand activations everywhere. It’s high time for all aspects of TIFF to get the same critical attention as the films.
Welcome to FASHION Reviews Everything TIFF-related. While this might not be an entirely comprehensive appraisal—it’s as impossible to be at every party as it is to see every film— if we attend anything linked to the Toronto International Film Festival in any way, we’ll review it here.
Receiving an invitation to a premiere party taking place at 5 in the afternoon may elicit “WTFs?!?!” in some many, however seasoned veterans of the Toronto International Film Festival know that these early fetes are commonplace once September pulls up in The 6.
Such was the case for the Kodachrome afterparty on Friday afternoon. Held at the swanky RBC House—which, may we add, nicely juxtaposes the oh-so-classy cougar hotspot Crocodile Rock and undergrad hangout Grace O’Malleys, both of which are dotted on Duncan St.—guests of note in attendance included Jason Sudeikis and Ed Harris, plus Toronto director Mark Raso.
The fete was chill and mellow: partygoers shuffled about, sipping on signature cocktails featuring Cîroc Vodka (one was peach and minty, the other berry and tart) and devouring mouthwatering mini sliders while making casual conversation, Raso’s extended family came out to support donning Kodak paraphernalia, and a kid sat in the plush VIP area deeply engrossed in her iPad.
While the moment everyone was waiting for—the grand entrance of Elizabeth Olsen—didn’t end up happening (sad but we still love you Lizzie!), Sudeikis appeared to be having a great time, sporting a black baseball cap and chatting up a storm with partygoers. Awww.
TL;DR
– Excellent beverages; mini sliders were dope
– Anti-social kid in corner ignoring everyone on iPad
– Elizabeth Olsen nowhere to be seen ?
– But Jason Sudeikis was in the house!
