It looks like pink hair is the new normal for drugstore beauty brands. First it was Maybelline with model Charlotte Free and now Cover Girl has named feisty, candy-floss-haired singer Pink as their newest spokesperson. The singer will certainly give the all-American brand a bit of edginess too, joining ranks with a diverse set of spokesmodels including Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore and Canadian Olympian Mary Spencer.

“Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are. That combination of irreverence and integrity is exactly what the Cover Girl brand loves about her and identifies with,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and general manager of Cover Girl, via press release.

Pink (whose latest album The Truth About Love is set to launch concurrently with the Cover Girl campaign in September) will undoubtedly keep her signature colourful style intact for the series of ads; in fact, if the sneak peek that she tweeted earlier today is anything to go off of—think orange nails, pink lips, blue liner and of course pink hair—it shows that Cover Girl makeup artist Pat McGrath has created some exciting new beauty looks that are sure to inject a dose of colour into the fall and winter doldrums.
