Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” Video is the Cutest Thing You’ll See All Day
Get you a guy that looks at you the way Shawn Mendes looks at Ellie Bamber.
After a drawn-out 10 months since the release of his music video for “Mercy,” Shawn Mendes is finally at it again. This time with the video for his current single “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” and it’s quite possibly the cutest thing we’ve ever seen.
The video, which went live at midnight, stars the Canadian singer and English actress Ellie Bamber living their best lives while running around Europe. There are shots of them riding bikes, holding hands in a subway station, gazing into each other’s eyes, and checking out the Eiffel Tower at night. According to a few users on YouTube, it appears the music video was predominantly shot in Amsterdam and Paris. In short, it’s basically what dreams are made of. It’s sickly sweet, but we just can’t get enough of it.
Evidently, these fans agree:

The 18-year-old is currently on his Illuminate World Tour, which could explain why it’s been nearly a year since his last music video was released. All we’re going to say is that it was definitely worth the wait.
