Even celebrity shutterbugs like George Pimentel, who spends more time on the red carpet than off, have shown their excitement about the impending migration of a-listers. Pimentel recently gushed about Natalie Portman, who will be in town for her newest darkest flick Black Swan, that she is  “Bar none the most beautiful young actress in the business.” [Toronto Life]

Oy, Canada indeed, kicking off the festival will be the uber-Canadian Score! A Hockey Musical. From this recent interview with lead actor Noah Reid, we learned it’s the actor’s first TIFF (“Which is ridiculous being a Torontonian”), that co-star Olivia Newton-John is actually hilarious (“We couldn’t get through takes because we were laughing so hard.”) and that Score! was actually second choice for the opening slot (“Barney’s Version is a Jewish film, and they won’t put a Jewish film on a Jewish holiday, so our Gentile hockey movie stole the spot.”)  [BlogTO]

When CP24 asked Torontonians which part of TIFF they were most excited for, 54 per cent said “none of it.” Really? None of it? Did they not know that James Franco, Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm will be in town? [CP24]

And speak of the devil, apparently funny gal Olivia Newton-John was spotted today at Starbucks in Yorkville. Expect many  more “spotted at Starbucks” celeb sightings to come. [ET Canada]

While Holt Renfrew won’t be doing their annual TIFF fete this year, they are hosting the Variety Studio put on by Diesel, Blackberry and Cadillac . We’ve already seen tweets reporting that  Rachel Weisz and Marion Cotillard were hanging out in the lounge and Holts expects many more to come. [@NOWlifestyle]
