Big day over here up in Yorkville, namely at the Four Seasons for a luncheon with gossip guru George Christy. While the lunch itself had the strictest guestlist, the less rigidly-guarded opening reception turned out to be quite fruitful for celeb spotting.

First, we had Jennifer Garner in the Four Seasons lobby in a grey cardigan and dark jeans. Apparently the young Mrs. Affleck has quite the day up and about Yorkville: We’ve heard buzz about her lunching at Holt Renfrew (where, say some wide-eyed employees, Hilary Swank was just trying on clothes) and “posing” with fans outside of Starbucks.

Next! Josh Brolin swept into the reception granting a few interviews in a navy chemise and black blazer, which yes, the combination is a faux pas, but we’ll let it slide this time. Anthony Hopkins, who’s in town with his wife, Stella, for the Woody Allen-directed You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. Had a brief intro and was relieved to hear that yes, he was enjoying TIFF, but it was really just getting started. Tell that to the already very sleep deprived PR people and red carpet stalkers.

There was also Atom Egoyan, Ben Mulroney with wife Jessica Brownstein, sans bebes, and the Mimrans.

Chatted briefly with Kimberly Newport-Mimran about her Porter and Holt Renfrew uniforms, she looked radiant in an all-cream ensemble with Jimmy Choo shoe kitten heels, feathered Jason Wu skirt and a Pink Tartan blouse.

“So you’re in Choo, Wu and you?”

“You really are a writer!” she responded. Before I had the chance to ask about her husband’s shoes (blue velvet slippers embroidered in gold with his initials) she was whisked away by eager photogs. Nevertheless, it was enough for this writer to float on home.
