Inside the Schitt’s Creek premiere: 15 party pics of the who’s who in Canadian comedy
On Monday night, the who’s who of Canadian comedy came out in support of Schitt’s Creek, the new show created by former MTV host Dan Levy and his father (and by that, we mean Jim’s father in American Pie) Eugene Levy. The show, which premiered this week on CBC, tells the story of the Rose family, L.A. billionaires who lose all their money and are forced to move to a Podunk town, the aptly named Schitt’s Creek. It’s brimming with legit LOLs, many doled out by Catherine O’Hara (of Home Alone, Beetlejuice, Best in Show etc. etc. etc.), who plays the frenzied, drug-addled Rose matriarch. The show also stars newcomer Annie Murphy and character actor Chris Elliot (just like, Google him for one second and then laugh for hours), who were both on hand to celebrate post-premiere alongside stars like Andrea Martin, Sarah Gadon, Scott Thompson and Jessi Cruikshank, who hosted a Q&A with the cast.
Finally, there’s a new addition to the long line of Canadian funnies. Tune in to the first season of Schitt’s Creek, Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. EST on CBC.
