Inside the Design Exchange’s 2016 Fundraiser Gala, DX Intersection: Dispatch
Leave it to Toronto’s Design Exchange to cater to a mixed crowd like a pro. The theme for the recent annual gala fundraiser DX Intersection (DXI)—held at the museum’s HQ on Friday, November 4—was called DISPATCH for a reason. Each of the three floors at the event contained installations created by various artists and designers hailing from around the country, names as dissimilar as Space Animator, RAW Design and Joe Clement.
Fashion folk such as Kirk Pickersgill (of design duo Greta Constantine), style enthusiasts like Anita Clarke, pop artists such as Fefe Dobson and Ivana Santilli and media personalities like George Stroumboulopoulos all gathered to toast the founder of Wallpaper* magazine and current editor of Monocle, Tyler Brûlé on his DXI award.
The rest of the event’s attendees—dressed in their cocktail best—echoed the DX’s main message as notables coming from the city’s hippest scenes took to the dance floor to celebrate Canada’s design museum.
