What the New Game Of Thrones Season 7 Photos Reveal

Think about it – right now we could be watching Daenerys make her way into Westeros and Jon Snow being crowned King of the North. With season seven of Game of Thrones now coming back in July rather than its usual April airdate, HBO decided to give us a little sneak peak to make us forget about the debacle.

Fifteen new images for the new season were released on Thursday, one month after the trailer came out. There are photos of nearly everyone and no white walkers in sight, much to our delight. There aren’t any new characters to be seen in the photos either, which means no one new to love and lose.

The photos show new costumes and locations for characters including Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Cersei (Lena Headey), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Arya (Maisie Williams) and others.

We see Jaimie and Cersei side-by-side once again in a photo, though they both look a little gloomy. In an intense theory post, Reddit user xpbso thinks this photo could mean a lot more. The sword Jaimie is holding hasn’t been seen for two seasons, the last time being when Joffrey (Jack Glleeson) used it to destroy the book that Tyrion gave him.

If you look closely enough, you’ll see the sword is actually the Widow’s Wail, and fans are theorizing that Jamie will use it to kill his widow sister Cersei.

Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) is featured in a photo with her back turned and Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) in front of her. Season six showed us some tension between the two, which produced a ton of memes egging on their (one-sided) romance. Something in Tormund’s expression makes us think they could be getting a little closer!

We will see more Tormund and Brienne in #GoTS7 ?❤️ #tormundgiantsbane #brienneoftarth #gwendolinechristie #gameofthrones #hbo

We also see Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) standing like the power-child she was back in the last season, Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) taking Hodor’s job of dragging Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) around in the snow and Daenerys at a change of scenery – finally at King’s Landing alongside Tyrion.

Jon Snow, of course, is wearing the same fur coat as always with the same worried expression on his face. Not a lot seems to have changed there.

Of course, people took to Twitter to freak out about all of the new photos.
