Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s Relationship May Have Just Been Confirmed
It’s been just over 24 hours since we found out that Selena Gomez and The Weeknd might be a thing (we, along with the rest of the Internet, still can’t handle it TBH). And guys, SO MUCH has happened since.
After TMZ released paparazzi photos of the 24-year-old songstress and 26-year-old singer locking lips, The Weeknd’s ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid, quietly unfollowed Gomez on Instagram (she still, however, follows Abel, while Selena still follows Bella and not her potential new man). If you recall, Selena and the 20-year-old model are within the same friendship circle, with Bella’s older sister, Gigi Hadid, and Gomez both being part of Taylor Swift‘s squad (whew!).

And now, “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer is making headlines, yet again, after fashion photographer Mert Alas posted (and subsequently deleted) a photo of her wearing nothing but a thong, towel and giant hoop earrings.
To add to the drama and excitement, Alas tagged The Weeknd in the comments (using the wrong handle, however) with a black heart emoji, which could possibly be a cheeky (sorry, we had to) way of referencing the Canadian crooner’s “Party Monster” lyrics, in which he sings, “Like Selena, ass shaped like Selena.”
Some Selenators aren’t too happy with the racy photo, however, especially after the former Disney star’s emotional acceptance speech at the American Music Awards, in which she said, “I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram, I want to see what’s in here,” putting her hand to her heart.
Sure, the photo is a little bit contradictory, but in Selena’s defense, it wasn’t posted to her own personal Instagram. And she, like the rest of us, has the right to do what she wants with her bod.
All we have to say is, we’re sure happy Selena Gomez is back in the spotlight.
