Meghan Markle’s Estranged Half-Sister is Penning a Tell-All Book on ‘Pushy’ Suits Star
Meghan Markle is finding herself in the middle of some major family drama as her estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, is said to be penning a scathing tell-all book on the Suits star, claiming the 35-year-old girlfriend of Prince Harry is a “shallow social climber who always had ambitions to marry into royalty.” This news comes amid engagement rumours between Markle and her royal beau.
According to 52-year-old Grant (who recently changed her last name to Markle), the working title of the book is called “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister” and will deal with her “bi-racial family in a candid, warm, personal and socially important way,” reports The Daily Star. Samantha previously told The Sun that becoming a princess was “something [Meghan] dreamed of as a girl when [they] watched the royals on TV,” adding her sibling “always preferred Harry—she has a soft spot for gingers.”
Grant, who shares the same father (Thomas Markle) as Meghan, claims she helped raise the actress for 12 years but was dumped by her in 2008 after she developed multiple sclerosis and became wheelchair-bound. However, a source tells E! News, that the siblings grew up with completely separate lives.
“Samantha Grant doesn’t have a relationship with Meghan Markle and she never has,” the source told E! News. “As they were 17 years apart, they were never raised in the same house. Meghan was raised an only child by her loving parents.”
Grant’s vendetta against Meghan isn’t anything new, however. In the past, the Florida-based former model blasted her half-sister on Twitter, mocking Markle’s acting career, insulting her Time essay on period shaming and calling her a hypocrite. (Samantha’s Twitter account has since been made private.)
However, the rest of the family seems to be siding with Meghan, with half-brother Thomas Jr. reportedly saying, “Just leave Meghan alone. Samantha is just doing this because she has nothing better to do. Her whole life is just about being a pain. It’s why no one talks to her and hasn’t for a long, long time.”
Samantha’s mother, Roslyn, added, “Samantha trashes Meghan, trashes me, her dad, her brothers. She’s just been trashing everyone in her life forever. She has never liked Meghan and has always been jealous of her. If Meghan marries Prince Harry then Samantha doesn’t want to be left out of all that. It’s a spectacle and it will put her in the limelight.”
She continued, “Samantha is a 100 per cent user. She is not a warm, sweet, loving person. I’m her mother and I walked away about three years ago because she’s such an abusive person. She’s my daughter but I didn’t raise her to be like that.”
Even Samantha’s 18-year-old daughter, Noel Rasmussen, says her mother has been “overall jealous” of Meghan as soon as she got famous.
“Of course my mother doesn’t like Meghan. This she’s told me starting from a very early age,” Rasmussen told The Daily Mail. “She hasn’t shown her any type of love or appreciation unless she wants money. That’s it.”
“It’s not a tell-all book if it’s all lies,” she added. “You can essentially write a book full of lies but it’s not a tell-all. It’s literally just going to be her versions, her ramblings, of things that have happened. None of it is going to be true.”
As for Samantha? She says, “Maybe when Meghan is more mature and reads the book she’ll understand. Some of it she won’t like, some of it she might.”
Talk about an extreme case of sibling rivalry.
