More Updates on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Rumours about Prince Harry dating 35-year-old Suits actress Meghan Markle are taking over the internet, and it is pretty hard to keep up with the facts.
Earlier this week, The Sunday Express and Daily Star both broke the news that Harry and Meghan were an item. The Royal Family has not confirmed a thing, however, Suits fans are obsessed with the idea. The latest we’ve heard about the fling is that Harry was actually in town this weekend (eye witnesses claimed to have spotted him in the Dupont St. area—where Markle lives), and attended a Halloween party with the the actress.
Although Markle has been married before—and has previously been romantically linked to Toronto-based Chef Cory Vitello—she split from her former husband, film producer Trevor Engelson, in 2011. Most of the stories revolving around Harry and Meghan are packed with “sources” that say Harry is “the happiest he’s been in years,” and William and Kate have already met Meghan (“They really liked her and she fit in straight away,” says another source). People magazine is reporting that Harry might even propose to Markle.
What we do know for sure is that the royal palace has confirmed that Meghan and Harry are indeed seeing each other. In a statement released on November 8th, Harry’s Communications Secretary refers to Markle as “his girlfriend” and also states that she is “a few months into a relationship with him”. The press release also outlines that Harry is quite “worried about Ms. Markle’s well-being” as she and her family have been bombarded with paparazzi and press (some of the press has sadly been framed in racist undertones). So far, Markle has yet to peep a word to any news outlet.
What some may not know is that aside from royal hobnobbing and acting, Markle is also a successful business woman who is busy running a lifestyle empire on a website called The Tig, which is filled with posts on chefs, food, fashion, travel and beauty. The last movie she was in was a TV film called Dater’s Handbook, and nothing has been announced in terms of her next TV or film role. In terms of whether she’s a Royal Family fit, her CV certainly helps her cause. She is devoted to charities such as #bethechange and became a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada. She also presented at United Nations Headquarters for the HeforShe Gender Equality Campaign in September 2014 and travelled to Afghanistan with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on a USO tour.
