Game of Thrones Fans Should Expect “A Huge Cliffhanger” in Season Seven

Winter is here.

Season seven is the beginning of the end of Game of Thrones, and there’s no way you’re ready for it. The HBO series has a reputation for shocking twists and killing off your favourite characters. With just two more seasons until the show wraps up (winter is actually coming this time), the characters you love the most might just have to go.

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, gave some hints to Time Out about what to expect in the upcoming season. She said the George RR Martin story’s finale will include “a huge cliffhanger,” leaving us to wonder who’ll be left standing—we just know the twist is going to make us cry.

“It’s just kind of tumbling now,” she told Time Out. “We’ve come to the climax, and it’s rolling down to the end. It’s exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives.”

Not even the cast members know their own fate, though they might have a little hunch in accordance to how their scripts are beginning to play out. Williams says there are no special privileges, although the cast is already prepared for the windup.

If her character lives until season eight, Williams and other cast members might be getting a tattoo to mark the end.

“There are rumours that if you make it from season one to season eight there’s a tattoo that we all get,” Williams said.

“We’re all waiting to see if we do make it. I was lucky enough to be in season one, even the pilot episode. If I do make it to season eight, I will get it. It would be rude not to!”

The 19-year-old admits that the end of Game of Thrones is scary but exciting for her, too. Although the show has pretty much shaped her teenage years and given her lifelong friends (she played Arya since she was 11-years-old), she’s ready to take on some new roles that the show restricted her from.

“I can do anything,” she said in Time Out. “I can financially do whatever I want to do and physically will not be tied into anything. I’ve never had that.”

Maisie can currently be seen in her new sci-fi movie, iBoy.
