Sarah Hyland Flawlessly Shuts Down Haters on Twitter
At one point or another, we’ve all wished to live like the stars. Access to VIP parties, beautiful clothes, the best makeup artists and hair stylists, and the list goes on.
However, the rich and fab don’t always have it so easy, especially when we’re talking about online trolls. While publicists will sometimes step in to diffuse the situation, some celebs (think social media pros like RiRi and Chrissy Teigen) take matters into their own hands, eloquently calling out cyber bullies in 140 characters or less.
The latest celeb under attack? Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family star recently shared an image of herself in nothing but a T-shirt to support her boyfriend Dominic Sherwood’s anti-bullying alliance, and ironically enough, the Internet thought it was a good idea to shame the 26-year-old actress for looking way too skinny and suggest she go and eat a burger.
But being the social media star that she is, Hyland didn’t sit back. Instead, she unleashed her thoughts in a two-part tweet with attached images of her reply via the Notes app:
“I’d like to address something that has not only been brought up on Twitter but has been heavily discussed by all of you in my Instagram comments,” she wrote in Notes that she attached to her tweets. “That something is my weight. I normally don’t comment on things like this because it draws attention to those trying to spread negativity but I’m here to explain a few things and spread love. Here goes…I haven’t had the greatest year. Maybe one day I’ll talk about it but for now, I’d like my privacy. I will say this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes.”
Although the actress did not state the reason behind her illness (nor does she need to) and why she’s unable to work out, she inspires us to live a balanced life and to be strong, both mentally and physically. She also clapped back at the ignorant trolls where it was due.
“And you’re right! I should eat a burger! Cause they’re f*cking delicious! But guess what. I do,” she continued to write. “And again, you’re right. No one’s head should be bigger than their body but considering I’ve basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass. My circumstances have put me in a place where I’m not in control of what my body looks like.”
