Amal and George Clooney Are Officially Parents
Congrats to the happy couple!
It’s official. Amal and George Clooney just welcomed daughter, Ella, and son, Alexander, to the world. Cue the angel music.
Since the news broke in February, we’ve been sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for the twins to arrive. We’re not claiming any special insight, but we had a feeling it was going to happen soon, given that the actor/producer was absent at Sunday’s (June 4) Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia, an organization in which he is on the committee. Turns out, he did have a good reason.
“I really would have been [in Yerevan] but if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home,” joked Clooney in a video message, hinting the babies were due very soon.
And very soon indeed. According to People, the actor/producers’s rep released a statement earlier this morning after welcoming the new baby girl and boy.
“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives,” the statement reads. “Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.” Oh, George. Way to keep things lighthearted.
We can’t wait to see the first official photos of Ella and Alexander. As for Beyoncé…any time now.
