Hilary Duff Has Teamed Up With NUDESTIX on a Makeup Collection

Hilary Duff is serving up all the good news – first, she tells us that a Lizzie McGuire reboot is officially happening and now, the 31-year old has announced the launch of a makeup collaboration with Toronto-based cosmetics brand NUDESTIX.
The collection, which launches for pre-sale online tomorrow before officially launching on September 10, is called Daydreamer and includes a Nudies Matte All-Over Blush, Nudies Glow All-Over Highlighter, three Magnetic Luminous Eye Colours, and a Gel Colour Lip and Cheek Balm. Plus, $1 from the sale of each Daydreamer palette will be donated to the ACLU.
Speaking about the collection to WWD, the Younger actress said, “The colours were a nod to the fall. There are a lot of pink and ethereal tones in there. I’m a California girl and everything is like, bronze-y and golden, and I’m sick of that. I want my sweater and I want pearlized tones.” She added, “I like to, depending on what I’m wearing, put a little pop of colour on my eyes or do something that looks like myself but a little elevated. I put an extra minute in.” The ease of NUDESTIX’s products were no doubt part of the reason she became enamoured with the Canadian brand.
Duff invested in the company earlier this year, but told the site it was her who pitched the idea of a collab and not the other way around. She recounts the team coming to her house for a meeting through which she breastfed her new daughter Banks. “They come over, and I’m like, ‘Guys, I don’t have any help today. I’m sorry, I’m just going to have a baby on my boob and that’s just what it is.”
The working mum came prepared, bringing pigment and texture ideas to the table immediately with the brand noting she had “a very clear vision” of the collection from the get-go.
For Duff, who has long wanted to launch her own beauty line, the collaboration is the perfect first step. “I’ve always dreamed of doing [my own beauty line], and I just don’t have enough time. Between both coasts and I have two kids and I have my hands in a lot of different pots, and the market’s really saturated. I don’t really know exactly where I would fit in right now,” she explained.
Duff currently splits her time between LA, where she lives, and New York, where she films Younger. The Lizzie McGuire reboot will also be set in New York but it is unknown where the show will actually film.
As for her own personal makeup favourites, the actress says, “I live for highlighter, so I always want to have a little bit of glow going on.” Plus, eyelash extensions are a timesaver for her “mom-on-the-go” status.
We suspect the whole Daydreamer collection will be a permanent fixture in her (and our) kit from now on, too.
