Afternoon Delight: The Neutrogena hair mask that will bring your hair back to life
I was THIS close to starting this post with a Kanye-inspired “I’mma let you finish but this is the best hair mask of all time” but decided against it because this cult classic deserves more respect than that. That being said, Neutrogena’s Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask really might be the best mask ever. As someone with wavy hair that used to be subjected to dyes and heat styling tools on the regular (#noregrets…okay, #afewregrets), masks have always been a pretty crucial part of my hair care routine. I’ve tried everything from DIYs (coconut oil, avocados, olive oil) to expensive blends, and honestly, they all work, but to varying degrees. I’ve yet to slather on a mask only to wash it out and see zero results. Any hair mask is better than no hair mask, obviously.
However, Neutrogena’s silky smooth blend, which is enriched with olive extract and meadowfoam seed that seep into your hair to moisturize, and sweet almond extract to lock in that moisture, is pretty hard to beat. It’s only a fraction of the price of many of the other guys, and while a lot of masks can feel a bit slimy on your hands, this one is smooth to the touch and feels (and smells!) heavenly. The directions on the container say to use only a small amount and leave it in for a few minutes, to which I throw my head back and laugh maniacally, because I like to use a handful each time and leave it in for a couple hours (if not overnight) but that’s only because I have a ton of hair, and you might not, so do you!
Use it once or twice a week for hair that’s smoother, shinier and stronger. I’ll leave you with this fun fact: I once went to see a movie with this mask in and just wore a baseball cap to cover it up. YOLO.
