When the worlds of fashion and beauty collide, the result is usually a grand success. One look at Alber Elbaz’s collection for Lancôme or Matthew Williamson’s collaboration with Benefit Cosmetics and you’ll agree. So naturally we were tingling with excitement to hear of Nivea’s new partnership with British designer Giles Deacon.

This isn’t the typical designer/cosmetics giant collab in the sense that the two aren’t releasing any new products together. Deacon’s simply creating a set of limited edition packaging for the brand’s adored Nivea Soft moisturizing cream. And lets just say it’s not a jar you’ll want to hide in your makeup drawer. The designer, whose signature funky prints are as fun as his colour palette, whipped up a playful design appropriately titled “Catwalk.”

“I wanted to create a timeless and colourful design that’s not only fun, but a bit eccentric, too” Deacon commented via press release. The design depicts models having fun (you would be too if you were wearing Giles Deacon) in bright frocks and statement pieces. Oversized sunglasses, purple hair and tutus are a few details featured on the jar that are true to Deacon’s quirky aesthetic.

Not to be fooled, the product inside stays the same. But it does make us want it that much more! The Nivea Soft limited edition jars will be available at major drugstores starting in September.
