The Star Wars movies are known to have a long history of otherworldy makeup looks, and now, with the release of the upcoming blockbuster film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, CoverGirl is making it easier for us to achieve similar looks (well, sort of).

The brand has announced a first-of-its-kind beauty collaboration with the latest Star Wars film, inspired by iconic characters and key themes. Makeup artist and CoverGirl Creative Director, Pat McGrath, designed a series of six Star Wars-inspired beauty looks including Mystic, Droid, Jedi, Chrome Captain, Stormtrooper and the Dark Apprentice.

“Droid was inspired by C-3PO and I wanted her to look beautiful, with strong gold eyes,” she says in a statement. “Stormtrooper is a soldier, so this makeup look is intercut with a graphic eye. The look is structured with a very dark berry lip,” she adds.

The products may not help you achieve that villain-esque Darth Maul look, or the regal paleness fit only for Queen Amidala, but they will allow us Star Wars-loving gals to transform our look, express the light (or dark) sides of our personalities, and celebrate our love of the movie.

“Makeup is all about transformation and self-expression, and – with the looks inspired by the film – CoverGirl will encourage women to have fun, experiment and rock their beautiful. It’s pop culture meets galactic beauty!” says Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and GM of P&G Global Cosmetics.

CoverGirl products used to create these iconic Star Wars looks will be available beginning in October available in mass-market, drug and food retailers nationwide. We can’t wait to get our hands on a piece of Star Wars-inspired makeup, but now, the only question left is – Light Side or Dark Side, which side are you on?
