Would you get eyebrow extensions? Here’s everything you need to know
So, I got eyebrow extensions. A week ago, I didn’t know that was a thing you could do to your face, but it is. In the same vein as lash extensions, the new service is being offered at Winks Eyelash Boutique to fill in sparse spots, make your brows thicker, and eliminate the need for filling in every morning. The whole process takes about an hour, which, if you’re anything like me, is a pretty long time to sit still, but if lying in a comfortable chair while listening to soothing music is something you enjoy, then this is definitely for you.
When I got there, I was told that my natural brows were full and “perfectly shaped” (what, did you think I wouldn’t brag about something so important?) so we skipped the waxing and tinting that’s usually done before applying extensions. I was, however, shown how to determine the proper shape of brows. First, take any straight surface (a nail file, your phone, whatever), and place it on the side of your nose, lining it up diagonally with the outer corner of your eye. Where the end of the file falls is where your brow should end. The inner corner of your eye is where it should start, and directly above your pupil is where your arch should be. Good stuff.
From there, a tweezer was used to apply about 60-80 synthetic hairs to each of my brows using a medical-grade body adhesive, for a fuller overall look that’s not too shocking but is still very much a statement. I’m not sure I would say they look natural per se but they’re very much on fleek. My main concern was a scar on the end of my left brow where no hair grows, making that brow shorter than the right, meaning I have to spend time filling in every morning. Well, no more.
So, how do you take care of the pretty caterpillars now living on your forehead? Steer clear of oil products, because that’s what loosens the adhesive and will make them fall out. Otherwise, they should stay intact for 2-3 weeks. For the first 24 hours, avoid water on your face completely, and if for some reason you choose to still fill in your brows, use powdered products only. The salon carries different shades and lengths of the synthetic hairs, so you’re bound to find ones that will blend into your natural brows.

And in what is truly the least surprising news I’ve ever heard, their most popular request is Cara Delevingne brows. Anyway, I would definitely get this done again, but unless you’re ride or die for thick arches, I suggest sitting this one out if you’re already doing alright in that department.
