Why wait till New Years to make a resolution? If you want to do something, you should do it now. Here is something I always want to do year round, but with my busy and hectic schedule, sometimes I forget, and that’s to drink more water everyday. Rather than focusing on topical creams, serums or cosmetics that are applied on the outside, sometimes focusing on the inside is just as important.

Our bodies are made of approximately 60% of water and is vital to our health and overall well-being. Dehydration also makes your skin look more dry and wrinkled, which can be improved with proper hydration. I also find when I remember to drink more water my skin looks clearer too. Happy New Year to everyone and let’s cheer to a glass of water! Your skin will thank you for it.

I love a bold lip but sometimes I get lazy or intimidated by red lipsticks. My beauty resolution is going to be to wear a bold lip more often. And not just red lipstick: burgundy, dark plums, bright hot pink. Red lips can be intimidating and you have to have the confidence to wear them. Here are some tips on how to wear a red lip or a bold colour so you won’t feel intimidated:

Apply concealer all over the lips, and then apply a translucent finishing powder. Apply a lip liner (sharpen before use) that is close to the lip colour you plan on wearing. Apply your lipstick with a good lipstick brush. Your lipstick will not bleed and will last for hours.

While amping up my beauty routine by applying hair mask and facial mask regularly (Maskeraide is my current fave) is definitely on top of my list, this year I vow to work-out and practice yoga more. I believe there’s a natural and long lasting glow to one’s skin, which comes with all that endorphin boost you get from exercising What better way to clear the palette for your makeup than a stress-free healthy and glowing complexion?

Though my gym make-up is zero, my skincare is not. I vow to take better care of my skin by being more cautious, washing my face immediately post work-out to prevent acne or at least using an anti-bacterial wipe and making sure I hydrate it as well. I use some sunscreen and a light touch of BB cream and THANN lip balm right after. Cheers to being fit, healthy and positively beautiful in 2014!

Since I’m newly engaged, my hands are a serious focal point. Try showing off your ring when your nails looks horrid. It’s so embarrassing! No one want to give a disclaimer every single time someone asks to see the ring! My beauty resolution is to take care of my nails. This year, I will try my best to use cuticle oil daily. Keyword: TRY.
At the moment my favourite product to use is Dior’s Creme Apricot. It’s a fortifying cream for your nails. It’s literally a luxury product for your nails. All you have to do is apply the product around your nails and massage it in! I like to use it on naked nails. Perfect product to use right before you go to your bed.
