We’re in spring cleaning mode (despite the fact that the weather outside seems to be inexplicably hanging onto winter for dear life...) and that means making some space in our scent wardrobe for new spring fragrances. This season, fruity florals are reigning supreme, with peach notes making a surprising number of appearances — not that we’re complaining.
Whether your vibe is light and airy or sensual and cozy, there’s a new fragrance launch that you’re guaranteed to love. (Non-fruity ones, too.) And what better time to explore and find your latest scent obsession, with the Sephora sale currently ongoing?
Continue reading to learn about the best perfume launches of the season thus far, and get ready to meet your new signature scent.
“Kurky is here to remind us that there is no age limit for nurturing one’s inner child,” writes Francis Kurkdjian of the inspiration behind the latest scent for his eponymous fragrance brand. Kurky Eau de Parfum is a saccharine scent that pays homage to a box of sugared almonds Kurkdjian received at his baptism and features gourmet fruit notes (like peach and raspberry) and a base of rich, creamy white musks. Think of the sweet scent of a freshly opened box of candy — an ageless indulgence.
Guerlain Perfume Creation Director Delphine Jelk, the nose behind last year’s ultra-romantic Patchouli Paris, has done it again with Pêche Mirage, the latest from the French house’s luxe L’Art & La Matiere collection. A sensuous blend of peach, leather, sandalwood and amber, this certainly isn’t a synthetic Fuzzy Peaches candy-smelling fragrance (in case that’s what you’re after). Rather, it opens with a juicy, rather realistic-smelling peach note before drying down into something subtly spicy and leathery. This peach is all grown up.
Still on a fruit kick? Us too. The juiciest new launch from Canadian brand The 7 Virtues is Clementine Dream, a fresh citrus scent that is balanced with delicate florals and warm vanilla and amber. And thanks to a 22% concentration of fragrance oils, this summery scent really lasts (up to 24 hours and lingers for 72!).
If fresh linen sheets and second-skin-like fragrances are more your vibe, you’ll love Byredo Blanche Absolu, an amped-up version of the brand’s Blanche Eau de Parfum. Featuring more pronounced aldehydes, a stronger floral heart and intensified musk, plus the addition of black pepper, this is a more intense version of an everyday scent that you just can’t go wrong with.
Florals? For spring? Why, yes. Meet Kayali’s latest, a delightful blend of pear, sweet peach (notice a pattern this season?), rose, pink peony, violet wood and musk. It’s well-balanced, romantic and feminine but not overpowering.
If you’d like to skip right past spring and head into the delicious smell and feel of a hot, sticky summer night (right there with ya), Jo Malone’s latest, Beach Blossom, is the scent for you. A solar juice that features notes of lime, mint, coconut water and vanilla, this unisex fragrance will transport you to the beach, stat.
If “more is more” is your preferred approach to fragrance, you’re in for a decadent treat. The latest iteration of the wildly popular Good Girl series from Carolina Herrera is here and it’s deeply addictive and seriously bold. The brand’s most concentrated, potent version of the stiletto-housed juice is the brand-new Very Good Girl Elixir, a blend of black cherry, vanilla, red rose and amber. Think: date night in a bottle.
You’ve probably seen this one all over your FYP. The highly anticipated latest addition to the Glossier fragrance family is You Fleur, a light and airy floral fragrance with notes of mineral salt, ylang-ylang and apricot skin. Like the original You, it’s meant to feel fresh, luminous and entirely unpretentious and wearable. Smells like spring to us!
If there was an award for most spring- and summer-looking bottle, Daisy Wild Eau So Intense would certainly take the prize. The newest addition to the ever-growing Daisy family, Daisy Wild Eau So Intense an intensified version of last year’s Daisy Wild Eau de Parfum, featuring notes of banana blossom, jasmine, amber and sandalwood, for a result that’s intensely warm and irresistibly floral.
For U Beauty founder, Tina Chen Craig, launching a perfume has been in the plans for some time. When the luxury skincare brand launched in 2019, the idea to one day create a perfume was there, but Chen Craig had some other priorities to check off first, like making U Beauty a leader in luxury, science-based skincare. “I launch what [feels] ready,” she says. The brand’s first foray into scent came this year via Proem, a sparkling powerhouse of a fragrance, blending centifolia rose, Chinese magnolia, pink peppercorn, vetiver, rhubarb and lychee. It’s decidedly bold, feminine and unlike anything else in your fragrance wardrobe.
After what feels like an eternity of second skin-like fragrances reigning supreme, sweet, mouthwatering scents have found their way back into a modern perfume wardrobe. Sure, it can sometimes be nice to smell like you just stepped out of the shower and into freshly washed sheets, but a lifetime of that same scent profile? Snooze. Meet the latest from Ellis Brooklyn (launching on April 6th), a summery blend of guava, banana and mango that’s grounded with comforting vanilla, almond milk and sandalwood. The result? A season spent smelling like a tropical smoothie.
Meet Mochi Milk, the newest launch from DedCool. It’s a delicious gourmand scent with notes of marshmallow, vanilla bean and sweet rice milk. If you’re after a cozy, dreamy scent that’s sweet but not cloying, this is the spring and summer scent for you.
