This holiday season has me travelling to New York City. This photo was taken in Brooklyn, under the Manhattan bridge. My New York travel wardrobe did not differ much from my Toronto wardrobe: puffer jackets and colourful toques were the essential items during my trip. New York really is magic during the holidays, if you’ve never been during this season, put it on your list of go-to’s immediately!

Sadly I’m not headed anywhere warm this holiday season, but if I was, I would be sure to haul my new favorite midi skirt with me! I’m obsessed with this neoprene material; it’s weighted, but feels more like a swimsuit than a skirt which I think would be perfect for a date night or dinner while on vacation.

I took advantage of some black Friday savings and booked a flight to escape the cold after the holidays, to sunny Florida. When packing for a winter getaway to a busy city like Miami, you have to plan for both fashion and function. I know I spend a lot of time at restaurants when I travel, which have their air conditioning usually blasting, so I always pack cute jackets and heavier fabrics for evening looks.

When traveling some place warm during the winter months, I like to swap out my animal print for a tropical vibe that embraces the warmer weather. What I’ve done for this look is paired the vibrant top with a dark wine colored skort, to subtly draw in winter tones. This outfit is effortlessly transitioned into cooler climates for travels by layering a sweater over the top and pairing stockings with the skort, and we’re ready to jet set!
