Since most of us are still riding the wave of Britannia fanaticism post-London Olympics, news that Brit model Agyness Deyn has teamed up with famed London label Dr. Martens for a capsule collection could not be better timed.

Deyn, who first scored a pair of Dr. Martens boots at the age of 13, has been the face of the brand for the past two years. Her debut 29-piece collection will now have her at the helm of many design collaborations to come (a spring/summer 2013 line is already wrapped up). The collaboration pulls heavily from Deyn’s own signature grungy aesthetic, while also finding inspiration from style icons of the ‘90s.

“I love the style of some of the Nineties’ most famous couples, like Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder and Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis,” she told Vogue UK. “I love that grungy look, that freeness and real vintage vibe. I wanted the collection to look like someone had gone into a charity shop, like I did when I was a teenager, and come out dressed head-to-toe in what they’d bought. It’s a wear-it-all-together collection.”

The collaboration has an array of classic Dr. Martens footwear, including over-the-knee lace-up boots and lace-up velvet creepers, and also offers apparel and a heart-shaped satchel bag (our personal favourite). In terms of clothing, think lots of daisy print, tartan, acid green and tea dresses, with tougher, grunge-inspired elements like a khaki cotton twill parka and reversible bomber jacket—all in all, the collaboration’s a veritable throwback to the grunge heyday.

The footwear ranges from $165-365 while the rest of the collection ranges from $95-530 and is available this month in Canada.
