Van Cleef & Arpels Arrives At This Toronto Luxury Shopping Destination

Prepare to drool.

Crystal chandeliers, custom gold leaf hand-painted wall coverings, velvet draperies and cases and cases of sparkling jewels—Van Cleef & Arpels has arrived in style!

The storied French High Jewellery Maison recently opened its first stand-alone boutique in Toronto at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. If you think the Van Cleef & Arpels shop in-shop at Birks on Bloor Street is next level, the new flagship takes you into a whole other dimension—one which includes a jewellery bar and a private room for clients to view the Maison’s exquisite pieces.

The boutique showcases new creations, like the Art Deco-inspired Bouton d’or collection (based on a jewellery motif, Paillette, created by the Maison in the late 1930s) and iconic favourites, such as Alhambra (perhaps the chicest way to wear a token of luck) and Cadenas (the timepiece from this collection is said to have been inspired by the Duchess of Windsor).

Founded in 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels is known for its superior craftsmanship and design creativity. From the ingenious vanity case, the Minaudière (which boasts clever compartments for a woman’s evening essentials, including makeup, a comb, a mirror and a retractable watch) to the Zip necklace (actress Margot Robbie wore one of these special transformable pieces, which opens and closes like a real zip and can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet, to the Academy Awards in 2015), the Maison is a place where jewellery dreams come to life.
