For summer travel, especially road trips, I always wear and pack simple and easy clothing that doesn’t only travel well, but does double duty for day-to-night wear. Denim and light cotton pieces like this Le Chateau overall dress and simple white Bella Dahl dress fit the bill perfectly and can be easily mixed and matched with other pieces from your suitcase. Switch out a pair of travel perfect espadrilles for a great pair of chunky heels to transition the look from travel to dinner.

When talking about road trips, the first word that pops into my head is “comfort.” However, we don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. The pieces I would bring with me on a road trip have to be versatile so they can allow me to mix and match and to recreate different looks with the same items. With a denim shirt, a lace dress and a pair of comfortable sandals, I’m ready to go.

Road trips are an essential summer activity, especially when you grew up with classic cars and from those summers on the road, I’ve learned to keep things easy and light.

My summer road trip outfits are usually my favourite boyfriend jeans or cut-off denim shorts, an easy tee and a pair of slip-off shoes. It’s important to think ahead and bring an extra pair of shoes or a sweater incase the weather changes or you feel the need to dress up the look.

I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal when it comes to road trip attire. I like to be comfortable but not cross into the sweatpants realm of relaxation. My road trip essential is a stylish roomy bag. I need it to dress up a look if we stop for lunch and be big enough to carry my daily beauty needs. I can’t stop carrying this Valentino tote, the rock stud detail makes my inner fashionista grin.

Kira’s wearing: T-shirt, J.Crew. Jeans, DL1961. Bag, Valentino.
